U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) is now in its 12th consecutive day of military operations against Iranian military targets, continuing a campaign ordered by the Commander in Chief to weaken Iran's ability to threaten regional security and international shipping.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. ET, U.S. forces launched another wave of strikes against Iranian military targets. According to U.S. officials, the operation is ongoing and is intended to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial vessels operating in regional waters.

U.S. Rejects Iranian Claims Over Strait of Hormuz

The latest operations come as Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy claimed it controls entry and exit through the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. officials categorically rejected that assertion, calling it false.

Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz. The international waterway remains open for lawful transit despite repeated threats from the IRGC.

Commercial shipping continues to move through the strait with support from the U.S. military. Since early May, American forces have helped more than 900 vessels safely transit one of the world's most strategically important waterways.
