CENTCOM Rejects Iranian Claims, Says Strait of Hormuz Remains Open and U.S. Forces Unharmed

U.S. Central Command says Iran is spreading false claims about shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, alleged American aircraft losses, and the status of the U.S. naval blockade. CENTCOM says no U.S. aircraft were damaged and American forces remain fully operational.

U.S. Central Command on Thursday rejected several claims circulated by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iranian state media, accusing Tehran of spreading misinformation about recent military developments in the region.

Strait of Hormuz Remains Open

The IRGC claimed that commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz had become unsafe. CENTCOM rejected that claim and said the primary danger to civilian vessels and their crews comes from Iranian threats and attempted attacks.

“The immediate dangers posed to commercial vessels and their civilian crews are the IRGC’s verbal threats and attempted attacks,” CENTCOM said.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime routes, making any Iranian attempt to threaten commercial traffic a major concern for regional security and global energy markets.

No American Aircraft Lost

CENTCOM also denied Iranian reports claiming that six U.S. aircraft, including three F-35 stealth fighters, were destroyed during a recent attack on an American military base.

“No U.S. aircraft were destroyed or damaged in recent attempted Iranian attacks,” the command said. “All missiles and drones were intercepted or failed to reach targeted areas.”

The statement directly contradicts propaganda circulated by the Iranian regime following the attempted strikes.

U.S. Naval Blockade Remains in Force

Iranian media also claimed that the commercial oil tanker M/T Nora had broken through what Tehran described as a U.S. naval blockade.

CENTCOM denied that report, saying the vessel had not breached the American naval cordon.

“The commercial vessel has not broken through America’s steel wall blockade,” CENTCOM said.

The command added that more than 20 U.S. warships, hundreds of aircraft, and thousands of American service members remain on alert and continue enforcing the blockade.

CENTCOM’s response makes clear that Iran’s latest claims do not match the operational reality: the Strait of Hormuz remains open, U.S. aircraft remain intact, and American forces continue to control the situation.
