Iranian Leader Threatens the United States as Regional Fighting Escalates
Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, denounced the United States as the “Great Satan,” suspended Tehran’s participation in a ceasefire memorandum, and threatened an intensified response as military tensions spread across the Middle East.
Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, denounced the United States as the “Great Satan,” suspended Tehran’s participation in a ceasefire memorandum, and threatened an intensified response as military tensions spread across the Middle East.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, issued a written statement attacking the United States and warning that Iran and its regional proxies would deliver an “unforgettable lesson” to their enemies.
Khamenei accused Washington of repeatedly violating a ceasefire memorandum signed by the American and Iranian presidents. He claimed the alleged violations demonstrated that the U.S. president’s signature had “no value or validity.”
“The repeated violation of the memorandum by the Great Satan has shown the entire world that the American president’s signature is completely worthless and invalid,” Khamenei said in the written statement.
Iran Suspends Ceasefire Commitments
The statement followed an announcement by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, Tehran’s representative in working-level talks with the United States, that Iran was suspending its obligations under the memorandum.
Gharibabadi argued that Tehran had no reason to follow the agreement if Washington was not meeting its own commitments.
Khamenei accused the United States of dishonesty, coercion, broken promises, and regional domination. His rhetoric signals that the Iranian regime may be preparing to escalate beyond limited retaliation if American military operations continue.
Attacks on American Bases Raise Regional Alarm
According to the reports, Iranian forces have targeted U.S. military facilities in Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and other American-allied countries. Reports of U.S. military deaths have further increased fears of a wider regional war.
Additional reports indicate that the United States is moving dozens of aerial-refueling aircraft to support Israel while repositioning fighter jets across the Middle East.
Iran has warned that continued American strikes could trigger a broader offensive involving Tehran and its so-called “resistance front,” the Iran-backed terror network operating throughout the region.
Khamenei Remains Out of Public View
Khamenei reportedly suffered injuries during American and Israeli airstrikes in February. He has not appeared publicly since assuming power, and his latest message was again released only in writing through Iranian state television.
The absence of a public appearance, combined with increasingly aggressive threats from Tehran, adds further uncertainty as the United States and Israel strengthen their regional military posture.
Washington and Jerusalem cannot allow Iran or its terrorist proxies to use threats, missile attacks, and assaults on American bases to dictate the future of the Middle East.
