Israel Warns Iran’s Leaders After Khamenei Funeral Calls for Revenge Against Trump
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that any Iranian leader who tries to threaten Israel will face the same fate as former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed in an Israeli strike during the opening day of the U.S.-Israeli operation against Iran.
Israel issued a sharp warning to Iran’s leadership as funeral events continued for former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Khamenei was targeted because he led plans aimed at Israel’s destruction. Katz described the strike as a case of “the assassin being assassinated” and warned that any Iranian leader who tries to renew such plans will be stopped.
Katz also condemned calls from mourners at Khamenei’s funeral demanding revenge against President Donald Trump, saying the chants exposed the ugly nature of the Iranian regime.
According to the reports, Katz said the U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran removed an immediate threat to Israel and dealt a major blow to Iran’s strategic capabilities.
Israel remains on high alert and ready to defend itself against any threat, Katz said.
The reports also said Khamenei’s son and successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, has not appeared publicly amid concerns he could also be targeted if he continues the regime’s war path against Israel.
