Israeli Defense Giant’s U.S. Subsidiary Wins $212M Army Night Vision Order
Elbit Systems of America, the U.S. arm of Israel’s Elbit Systems, has secured a $212 million U.S. Army order for advanced night vision systems. The deal keeps Elbit America as the sole supplier for this delivery order under the ENVG-B program, with deliveries expected through 2028.
Elbit Systems of America, the U.S. subsidiary of Israel’s Elbit Systems, has received a $212 million delivery order from the U.S. Army for continued production of advanced night vision systems.
The order covers the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle–Binocular system, known as ENVG-B. Deliveries under the new order are expected to continue through 2028.
Under this delivery order, Elbit America will serve as the sole producer. That marks a shift from an earlier procurement model in which production was divided among multiple suppliers.
Built for Soldiers in Low-Light Combat
The ENVG-B system is designed to give soldiers a clearer picture in low-light and no-light battlefield conditions. It combines image intensification, thermal imaging, and augmented reality into one wearable system.
The goggles can also connect with weapon-mounted thermal sights and the Nett Warrior battlefield network. That allows troops to identify targets faster and share battlefield information across units.
According to the company, the system gives soldiers a fused view of the battlefield, helping improve detection, movement, and survivability in difficult combat environments.
Advanced Optics and Battlefield Awareness
The goggles use Gen 3 white phosphor image intensifier tubes together with thermal sensors. The system is built in a lightweight configuration and powered by a smart battery setup.
“Our ENVG-B systems offer information at the edge, as they integrate advanced low light performance, thermal imaging, and augmented reality into a single platform, enabling Soldiers to detect threats faster, identify targets sooner, and maneuver with greater confidence in all weather, lighting, and battlefield conditions,” said Erik Fox, Senior Vice President of Warfighter Systems at Elbit America.
Bezhalel “Butzi” Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems Ltd., said the order shows continued confidence in the company’s night vision technology and its work with the U.S. military.
“We are proud of Elbit America’s role as a trusted partner to the U.S. Armed Forces, delivering cutting-edge night vision systems. The continuation of orders under the program originally awarded in 2023 is a strong testament to the performance and trust placed in our systems,” Machlis said.
More Than 30,000 Systems Delivered Since 2020
Elbit says more than 30,000 advanced night vision binocular systems have been delivered since 2020. Those deliveries include systems for the U.S. Army’s ENVG-B program and the U.S. Marine Corps Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle initiative.
The program is part of a wider U.S. Army push to improve soldier lethality and survivability through better optics, sensor fusion, and battlefield networking.
The new order also comes after Elbit Systems of America announced a separate U.S. Army contract earlier this month to develop and test its Binocular Night Observation Device, known as BiNOD, as part of the Army’s next-generation night vision efforts.
For Israel’s defense industry, the deal is another sign of Elbit’s strong position in the U.S. military technology market, especially in systems that help troops see, move, and fight more effectively in complex battlefield conditions.
