Mamadani Rejects Antisemitism Claims, Says His Criticism Was Directed at Netanyahu

"This is criticism of a political leader, not of people of a certain faith, religion or background," Mamdani said.

Addressing the violent attack, the mayor stressed that individuals who commit hate crimes are solely responsible for their actions.

"If someone commits a hate crime, they will bear full responsibility. My responsibility as mayor is to ensure the safety of every New York resident, regardless of their origin, faith, or even if they agree with my politics," he said.
