Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday evening extended condolences to the family of Warrant Officer (Res.) Barak Kalfon following his death in southern Lebanon, and said Israeli forces will continue operating in the security zone to remove threats.

In a statement, Netanyahu said he and his wife were sending heartfelt condolences on behalf of all Israeli citizens to Kalfon’s family after the reservist fought heroically and fell in southern Lebanon.

Condolences to the family, recovery wishes for the wounded

Netanyahu said Israel embraces Barak Kalfon’s family and loved ones in their difficult hour and also wished a speedy recovery to the wounded soldiers.

The statement came after the IDF announced Kalfon’s death and said additional soldiers were wounded in the same incident.

Netanyahu says operations will continue

Netanyahu said Israeli forces will continue operating in the security zone in order to thwart threats directed at troops and Israeli communities.

He added that the operations are being carried out in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.

Netanyahu concluded by honoring the fallen reservist and saying Barak Kalfon’s memory would be blessed and cherished forever.
