Pakistan Says U.S. and Iran Reached Final Text for Peace Agreement
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says Washington and Tehran have agreed on the final text of a peace deal, with Pakistan now working with both sides on the next steps.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Thursday that the United States and Iran have reached a final agreed text for a peace agreement.
Sharif, who has been serving as a mediator in the talks, wrote on X that Pakistan is now working closely with both sides to finalize the remaining steps.
“The final, agreed upon text of the peace agreement has been reached,” Sharif said, according to the report.
The announcement came one day after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened additional strikes on Iran, then abruptly canceled the plan. Trump later said a strong agreement had been reached regarding the war with Iran and that only final paperwork remained.
The details of the agreement have not yet been released publicly. For Israel and the region, the key question is whether any deal will actually restrain Iran’s terror network, including Hezbollah, Hamas, and other Tehran-backed forces.
