Trump Warns Iran Of More U.S. Strikes After Tanker Attacks Near Hormuz
President Donald Trump warned that U.S. forces may strike Iran again after a major American operation hit more than 80 Iranian targets in response to attacks on civilian tankers near the Strait of Hormuz.
President Donald Trump warned Iran that U.S. forces may launch another round of powerful strikes, following American attacks on more than 80 targets inside Iran.
Speaking during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump said the United States hit Iran hard the previous night and could do so again.
“We hit them very hard last night, and we may hit them very hard again tonight,” Trump said, according to the report.
The strikes came after Iranian forces attacked civilian oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy routes.
Trump said U.S. forces damaged parts of Kharg Island, Iran’s key oil export hub, while avoiding broader damage to oil supplies. He also suggested that Iranian power plants and desalination facilities could be targeted if necessary.
The president also raised the possibility of restoring a naval blockade aimed specifically at Iran, while making clear that other nations would still be allowed to use the Strait of Hormuz.
The move would be designed to squeeze Iran’s energy exports and cut off funding for the regime’s military and terror network.
Trump said Iranian forces may try to deploy naval mines, but warned that U.S. forces are already taking out Iran’s small fast-attack boats, often described as a “mosquito fleet.”
While Trump sharply criticized the Iranian regime, he also left the door open to diplomacy, saying Iran must never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons and that an agreement would be easier than continuing without one.
