U.S. Marines Aboard USS Boxer Support CENTCOM Enforcement of Iran Maritime Blockade

U.S. Marine Corps aviation units deployed aboard the USS Boxer are supporting U.S. Central Command's ongoing maritime enforcement operations targeting Iran. Since August 6, CENTCOM has redirected dozens of commercial vessels, disabled two ships, and conducted two boardings as part of the mission.

U.S. Marine Corps aviation assets and personnel embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) are actively supporting U.S. Central Command's ongoing enforcement of the U.S. maritime blockade against Iran.

CENTCOM Maritime Operations Continue

U.S. Central Command announced that, as of August 6, its forces have redirected 49 commercial vessels, disabled two vessels, and conducted two maritime boardings during operations in the region.

The mission is part of broader U.S. efforts to enforce maritime security, protect international shipping, and increase pressure on Iran through sustained military operations at sea.
