U.S. Refueling Aircraft Return to Israel as Iran Tensions Rise Again
Reports say U.S. military refueling aircraft are returning to Israel after previously relocating during the U.S.-Iran ceasefire period, as Washington and Tehran appear to be sliding back toward direct confrontation.
U.S. military refueling aircraft are reportedly returning to Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv, raising fresh concern that tensions around Iran may be moving back toward a dangerous phase.
According to the report, 32 American refueling aircraft had been stationed in Israel to support U.S. military operations against Iran. They were later moved to European bases after Washington and Tehran signed a ceasefire-related memorandum last month.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and other senior officials have held security consultations as the situation develops. Israeli defense officials are reportedly staying on high alert for any sudden Iranian move or rapid escalation.
The report says the IDF has updated operational plans, reviewed fresh intelligence-based targets, and placed fighter jets on armed standby.
The renewed tension comes as reports claim the U.S. has resumed strikes against Iranian targets following Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
President Donald Trump said he does not believe a full-scale war with Iran is restarting, but added that any U.S. action would move quickly.
Iranian state media claimed a U.S. strike hit a railway bridge near Aq Qala in Golestan Province. Casualties and the full extent of damage remain unclear.
Pakistan, which has been involved in mediation efforts, urged all sides to show restraint and honor the ceasefire memorandum.
For Israel, the message is clear: the Iran-backed threat network cannot be allowed to regroup, attack shipping lanes, or threaten Israel’s security while hiding behind diplomacy.
