Matanel's Story
Matanel was critically wounded when a Hezbollah missile struck his outpost in Lebanon. He arrived at the hospital fighting for his life and became one of the war's most severely wounded soldiers. This week, after three and a half months of treatment and rehabilitation, he was discharged. Despite losing both of his legs, Matanel's message wasn't about pain—it was about gratitude. He thanked the surgeons and doctors who saved him, but he also made sure to thank the cleaner who arrived every morning and the hospital support staff whose kindness helped carry him through. His strength, faith, and humility are a powerful reminder of the character of Israel's warriors.
