Netanyahu: “Security Zone Along Entire Lebanon Border — Ceasefire Is Temporary”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel has achieved “major accomplishments” in Lebanon, including creating what he called a continuous security zone along the entire northern border to remove the immediate threat of an invasion. He said the IDF has destroyed nearly 90% of Hezbollah’s missile and rocket stockpiles, and claimed Hezbollah “is a shadow of itself.” Netanyahu stressed the mission is not finished and will require patience and sustained effort. He confirmed Israel agreed to a temporary ceasefire in Lebanon and said that for the first time in 43 years, Israel and Lebanon are speaking directly. He said Israel will allow a window for both a diplomatic and military solution, adding: “One hand holds the weapon, the other is extended for peace.”
