Hezbollah’s use of civilians as cover was on full display in southern Lebanon.
During operations north of the Litani River, IDF soldiers from the Givati Brigade uncovered multiple Hezbollah weapons caches hidden inside civilian buildings in the areas of Zawtar al-Gharbiyah and Zawtar al-Sharqiyah. Among the weapons seized were Kalashnikov rifles, anti-tank missiles, grenades, drones, communications equipment, and other military gear. In one of the most disturbing discoveries, soldiers found dozens of weapons stored inside a civilian residence alongside a baby crib. According to the IDF, the site was used by Hezbollah’s Radwan Force terrorists to plan and carry out attacks against Israeli forces. The IDF says more than 40 Hezbollah terrorists have been eliminated since operations in the area began. The discovery highlights Hezbollah’s ongoing practice of embedding terror infrastructure within civilian communities and using Lebanese civilians as human shields to advance its terrorist activities.
