But the wildest UFO story I’ve ever heard from a verified public figure came from former Canadian Defense Minister Paul Hellyer. He claimed UFOs are real, that multiple alien species have visited Earth, and that some extraterrestrial groups have even worked with the U.S. government. About 65% of Americans believe alien life exists, and many believe the government knows more than it is telling the public.
