Gulf States Condemn Iran After Drone Attack Targets Bahrain

Gulf nations are standing with Bahrain after an Iranian drone attack struck the country, home to the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet. The GCC, UAE, and Kuwait condemned Iran and warned the attack threatens regional security.

<p>Gulf states sharply condemned Iran after Bahrain said its territory was targeted in a drone attack, escalating tensions in a key area for U.S. military operations in the Middle East.</p>

<p>Bahrain hosts the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet, which oversees American naval operations across the region.</p>

<p>GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi said the Iranian attack targeted civilian and critical infrastructure and undermined efforts to restore peace and security in the region.</p>

<p>The Gulf Cooperation Council said it fully supports Bahrain’s right to take all necessary steps to defend its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.</p>

<p>The UAE and Kuwait also condemned Iran, calling the attack a clear violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty and a threat to regional stability.</p>

<p>Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry said the attack endangered citizens and residents and violated the U.S.-Iran ceasefire memorandum signed on June 17.</p>

<p>Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed it had targeted U.S.-linked sites in the region after U.S. forces struck Iranian missile, drone, and radar facilities in response to an Iranian drone attack on a Singapore-flagged container ship in the Strait of Hormuz.</p>

<p>The message from America’s Gulf allies is clear: Iran’s terror-backed aggression is not just a threat to Israel. It is a threat to the entire region.</p>
