Trump Announces First-Ever Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas
President Donald Trump announced that the Republican Party will hold its first-ever midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, on September 9–10, calling it a historic event to celebrate the America First agenda and the “Great American Comeback.”
President Donald Trump announced that the Republican Party will hold what he described as its first-ever midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, on September 9 and 10.
In a Truth Social post, Trump called the announcement “big news” and said the event would be a historic moment for the Republican Party. Party conventions are normally held during presidential election years to nominate candidates, not ahead of midterm elections.
“It has never been done before, and will be a truly Historic Event,” Trump said.
America First Agenda Takes Center Stage
Trump said the convention will celebrate the “Great American Comeback” and highlight what he called major wins under the America First agenda.
He listed no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security, stronger borders, safer communities, lower costs, more jobs, American energy dominance, and falling oil prices among the key achievements Republicans plan to promote.
Trump also said the administration is delivering on promises that politicians had talked about for decades but failed to complete.
Dallas to Host Major Republican Gathering
The upcoming midterm elections are expected to shape the balance of power in Congress during the second half of Trump’s second term. The Dallas convention is likely to serve as a major rallying point for Republicans as they look to defend and expand their agenda.
“The Golden Age of America has only just begun,” Trump wrote.
